The Linda D. Addison Speculative Poetry Fellowship supports BIPOC poets developing unpublished and in‑progress speculative poetry collections. The fellowship awards $1000 to one poet whose work demonstrates visionary depth, thematic strength, and artistic growth potential, recognizing the essential leadership of BIPOC poets in shaping contemporary speculative poetry.
Named in honor of Linda D. Addison — a trailblazing poet, editor, and mentor whose fearless voice and generous guidance have shaped the speculative poetry field — the fellowship celebrates her decades‑long commitment to diversity in speculative literature and her role in expanding the genre’s possibilities.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
Self‑identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or People of Color)
Be 18 years or older
Be developing an unpublished AND in‑progress speculative poetry collection
Not be current employees, board members, or immediate household members of Qilin Press
Not a judge for this fellowship
Work within speculative modes includes: science fiction, fantasy, horror, surrealism, mythic, folkloric, cosmic, slipstream, or hybrid forms.
HOW TO APPLY
Applicants must submit:
Completed Application Form.
Minimum of Ten (10) Poems from the Collection Submitted as a Single PDF or Word Document.
Indicate whether poems are unpublished or reprints.
The collection as a whole must be unpublished and in progress.
Include a table of contents at the beginning.
